Barbara Grant was born in Tiensin, China. As a small child, Barbara travelled extensively throughout Europe with her White Russian and British parents, eventually settling in Australia.

Barbara exhibited a natural talent for drawing at an early age. She excelled in Art throughout her school years.

After raising a family with her husband, Barbara re-commenced painting again. With no formal training, Barbara developed her own personal style and interpretation. Consequently Barbara's love of Australia's magnificent wilderness areas features predominantly in the majority of her work.

Barbara Grant is an accomplished artist who has become one of Sydney's most popular painters and her works are widely admired.
