PAT MURPHY
Born in Holbrook, NSW Pat has always had a love for drawing and enjoyed art
during her school years. Her interest in oil painting was kindled while
on their property near Binnaway with her husband Bernard and four small
children. At that time, Pat had only a limited time for painting.
When the family moved to the city to live she was able to devote more
time to painting.
Pat's natural talent and understanding of the bush helps her to capture
both scene and atmosphere on her canvas. The quest to find suitable scenes
has led to frequent painting trips with other artists. The subjects of
these paintings have ranged from panorama, serene rivers, lovely old gold
mining towns and their characters, cows and sheep grazing in contentment
and huge old river gums.
Her aim was also to meet the people who tell the stories of the way it
is, and was, and by the stories they tell enhance the feeling of country
life.
Pat is represented in many private and corporate collections in Australia
and overseas, including banks, government organisations and major corporations.
